Once again mother nature threw us a surprise weather event… A December Snow. Though this on came earlier than the one in the previous post.
Merry Christmas to All
December 25, 2004
It started snowing on Christmas Eve around 9pm. It was a miracle happening before our eyes… A white Christmas. Everyone in the family got dressed in warm clothes and went out to play…
It was a sight unexpected, unpredicted… unprecedented. Everyone danced and cavorted late into the early morning hours. I stayed up watching the snow fall, drifting in hypnotising swirls through the spotlight over the kitchen window until just after midnight. Wanting to make sure we actually had snowfall on Christmas Day.
I expected it all to melt by morning.
So while the family slept in on Christmas morning, a totally unheard of event, I dressed and wandered out with my camera… And entered a winter wonderland, a Christmas Miracle, a snow covered Christmas. It was beautiful.

Last year I broke down and planted a couple of small thornless blackberry bushes. I had never bothered before since we had so many dewberries growing around this place.
This week we are beginning to see a few ripe berries…
I was walking along the bayou behind my house a few years back and came across this spider at the edge of the woods. It was late in the day and the sun was setting behind the web…It made for a very dramatic shot.
The image at the top of the page has had a little photoshop magic applied just because I like it.
We were lucky enough to have this little guy visit us this past winter. He spent a couple of months hanging around our feeders. This was the first time we have ever been treated to a visit here.
