On day six we drove the Trail Ridge Road over the park to Grand Lake. Our route to Alpine Visitor Center was via Old Fall River Road. This was the original road into Rocky Mountain National Park. Built between 1912 and 1920, this dirt road is maintained as a one way summer route up the Fall River valley.
Once up it was all downhill through the Kawuneeche Valley to the town of Grand Lake on the western side of the park.
