This little guy and his two siblings were born and lived for a while under our house. It was quite amusing each evening to watch them wander out and begin to root about in the yard and flowerbeds looking for supper. If I lived in suburbia and had a manicured yard I probably wouldn’t have been so amused. But for the span of a few weeks we enjoyed their antics each day at sundown…

There was a period of time when I first acquired my D80 that almost every evening brought a light show. The pictures I took that fall of sunsets would fill a book. If you look real close you will see my wife standing dead center in the foreground.

Actually it’s not the backyard. This shot is from under the oak trees that line my driveway. Most of what you see is the neighboring property next door.
On quite a few mornings as I would begin my trek into work, I would walk out to my truck and be captured by the morning light. So I would throw my briefcase in and take the camera from it’s bag and wander over to take a shot or two to begin the day…What a way to start your day. Contemplating the beauty of nature before going to the office.

As the sun sinks into the west on a spring day the light on the new leaves contrasts with the freshly scrubbed blue of the sky in my backyard.
