More Sky and Clouds

Down along the Brazos River just a few miles from where it empties into The Gulf of Mexico, both side of the river have meandering sloughs full of still water. Many of these, not much more than elongated ponds, become so clogged with plants you wouldn’t even know the water was there if you hadn’t seen them in winter…

At some times of the year the plants are flowering and it makes for a carpet of color meandering through the woods. This area is know as the Columbia Bottomlands.

And for the benefit of all of my more northern friends, these shots with all of their beautiful clouds were taken on October 21, 2010… Late fall for most of you…
